  • Tom Brewster

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Tom provides strategic direction and leadership for CHIA’s global operations. With a heart for missions and decades of nonprofit experience, he steers the vision to touch lives spiritually.

  • Anna Wong Lowe, PhD

    ADMINISTRATOR

    Anna serves as Administrator for CHIA, where she manages finances, supports organizational planning, and coordinates mission trips. Holding a PhD in Intercultural Communication, Anna combines her academic training with a heart for ministry.

  • Sue Sherman

    CO-FOUNDER & SECRETARY

    Sue Sherman, R.N., B.S., co-founded CHIA with her late husband, Dr. John “Doc” Sherman, in El Paso, Texas. What began as delivering medicine across the Mexican border has grown into a global ministry serving communities in Central and South America and Africa. Sue continues to serve on CHIA’s Board and actively participates in mission trips.

  • Debbie Stoner

    PRESIDENT & PHARMARCY DIRECTOR

    Debbie Stoner serves on CHIA’s Board of Directors as President and as the Director of Pharmacy, contributing expertise in healthcare, leadership, finance, and community outreach. She brings a passion for service and provides valuable support to CHIA’s ongoing ministry efforts.

  • Billy Powell, Jr.

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Billy Powell is Vice President of CHIA’s Board of Directors and serves on the Finance Committee. With a servant’s heart and a deep love for Jesus, Billy generously donates his time to his family, friends, and the broader community.

  • Dr. Minerva Soriano

    DENTAL DIRECTOR & BOARD MEMBER

    Dr. Minerva (“Minnie”) Soriano was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and became a U.S. citizen in 2016. A graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua Dental School, she has served on CHIA mission trips since 1996 and works tirelessly to care for the underprivileged. She and her husband, Eduardo, have one daughter, Sarah.

  • Christine Swan

    BOARD MEMBER

    Christine Swan has served on CHIA’s Board of Directors since 2022. She plays a key role in supporting our mission trips by coordinating food and helping wherever she is needed. Christine also coordinates CHIA’s weekly prayer group, faithfully covering the ministry in prayer. She is passionate about using her skills and gifts to glorify God.

  • Estuardo Aguilar

    DISCIPLESHIP DIRECTOR & BOARD MEMBER

    Stu Aguilar serves on CHIA’s Board of Directors as Discipleship Director. He is a production manager with expertise in bringing metal enclosures from design to finished product. Originally from Guatemala, Stu was deeply impacted by a medical mission trip at age 11 and, after moving to Texas at 25, has dedicated himself to serving others through missions since 2011.

  • Dr. Lorena Chavez

    MEDICAL DIRECTOR & BOARD MEMBER

    Dr. Lorena Chavez serves as CHIA’s Medical Director and has been part of CHIA’s medical mission teams since 2013. A licensed OB/GYN, she has provided compassionate care for more than 25 years at a Christian clinic in Durango, Mexico. Dr. Chavez has three children and recently earned her P.A. license in the United States. With a heart to use her medical expertise for Christ, she continues to volunteer on numerous mission trips.

    Dan Harker has been serving families across the Dallas–Fort Worth area through real estate since 1994, continuing a legacy begun by his mother in 1968. He joined CHIA’s Board of Directors about four years ago, after first experiencing CHIA’s ministry on a mission trip to Constitución, Mexico. That trip sparked a deep connection to CHIA’s mission of sharing Christ’s love through compassionate service. For Dan, CHIA represents a beautiful blend of faith in action—healing bodies while introducing hearts to the ultimate Healer.

  • Jim Newman

    BOARD MEMBER

    Jim Newman brings over four decades of leadership and business experience to CHIA’s Board of Directors. His expertise in property development and tax consulting has guided many of the thriving communities seen around Frisco, Texas today. Jim’s commitment to using his professional gifts for God’s Kingdom makes him a valued part of CHIA’s ministry and mission efforts.
