Difficulty Level Key

CHIA mission trips are assigned a difficulty level—Easy, Moderate, or Hard—to help participants choose a trip that matches their comfort and physical ability.

EASY:

  • Suitable for anyone in normal physical condition.

  • Accommodations typically include comfortable hotel lodging.

MODERATE:

  • Involves challenging travel and some strenuous activities.

  • Accommodations may be simple or dormitory-style.

  • Participants may experience extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).

HARD:

  • Includes strenuous daily activities and extensive walking.

  • Participants may camp or sleep within the local community with minimal amenities.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

FAQs

  • A: Not at all! While medical professionals are essential, we also need volunteers to serve in prayer, logistics, evangelism, and clean water distribution.

  • A: Not at all—just a willing heart.

  • A: While knowing the language is always a bonus, it’s not required. We work closely with cultural brokers and translators who help bridge communication throughout the trip.

  • A: The trip cost includes food, lodging, transportation to/from destination, and administrative fees. It does not cover required vaccinations, personal spending money, or transportation to the designated departure location (e.g., if your trip departs from Dallas, you are responsible for getting to the Dallas airport. We will cover the cost of the flight from Dallas to the destination).
